The Job Site
Clearing Ground In Rochester, New York
John Anderson Construction & Tri-State Tree is clearing acreage for a new Amazon distribution center, the kind of large-scale commercial site prep that leaves no room for downtime. Schedules are tight, the ground has to be opened fast, and the machine doing the work has to show up every morning ready to run.
Shawn Welch and his crew already knew the Gyro-Trac platform. They ran a GT-25 before this, which makes their read on the new GT-250 worth listening to: they are not comparing it to a brochure, they are comparing it to the machine that sat in the same seat on the same kind of work.
Tim Bush stopped by the site to see how the new unit was holding up, walk the upgrades, and get an honest review from the operator running it.
The Machine
What's New On The GT-250
The GT-250 builds on everything that made the GT-25 a job site standard, then sharpens it where operators actually feel the difference: in the cut, in the cab, and in the time it takes to service the machine at the end of a long day.
More Aggressive Cut
Smoother, quieter operation with a noticeably more aggressive cutting performance.
Upgraded Cab
Better visibility and improved operator comfort through a full day in the seat.
Side-Opening Service Doors
Hinges open out instead of up, so daily service access is faster and easier.
Beefier Trunnion Design
Attached directly off the undercarriage for added strength where it counts.
Stage V Engine
Powerful and efficient, delivering clean, dependable performance on site.
Proven Platform
Everything crews trusted about the GT-25, refined for the next generation.
The Review
GT-25 Owners, GT-250 Believers
In the video, Shawn walks through the upgrades that stand out most once you have run both machines back to back: a quieter cab that is easier to spend ten hours in, a cutter that bites harder through heavy material, and service doors that finally open the way a mechanic wants them to.
That is the story of the GT-250 in a sentence. Same Gyro-Trac backbone, refined by the people who spend their days on the sticks.
Built for crews who measure a machine by what it does on the fifth acre of the day, not the first. — Gyro-Trac
