A Behind-the-Scenes Look at Gyro-Trac: From Used Gems to the Latest Models
Here at Gyro-Trac, we're proud of the powerful, reliable forestry mulchers we build and support. From brand-new machines heading to hardworking customers to classic models still clearing land after more than a decade, our facility is always buzzing with activity.
Recently, our own Tim Bush took a moment to walk through the yard and showcase some of the incredible machines currently on-site in South Carolina. The lineup included used mulchers for sale, customer units in for service, and our highly sought-after refurbished models.
If you missed the tour, you can watch the full video right here!
For those who want a closer look at the details, here's a breakdown of the powerful equipment Tim covered.
For Sale: The Classics in Great Condition
Tim highlighted two exceptional used machines that we're selling "as-is" simply because they're in such fantastic shape.
-
2007 Gyro-Trac GT-13: A true workhorse, this older machine features a captive track system and has only about 1,800 hours on it. It's a perfect example of the durability built into every Gyro-Trac.
 -
Used Gyro-Trac GT-25: This 250 HP unit also features a captive track system and comes equipped with a wide 92-inch cutting head and our Generation 1 Sabertooth drum. Even though it's not a refurbished model, we're so confident in its condition that it comes with a 6-month parts warranty!

The Refurbishment Difference: Steel Track vs. Captive Track
As Tim pointed out, a key part of our refurbishment process often involves upgrading the undercarriage. You can see the clear difference between the older Captive Track system and the modern, robust Steel Track undercarriage found on our refurbished and new models. This upgrade is a big part of what makes our refurbished machines feel and perform like new.
Speaking of which, we had a fully Refurbished GT-25XP on site. This 270 HP beast features the steel track undercarriage, a 92-inch cutting head, and comes with the peace of mind of a full warranty.
New, Used, and In-Service: A Full Spectrum of Power
It's always great to see machines from our valued partners. We had two customer units in the yard:
-
A GT-16XP (now known as the 200 HP GT-200) with a 65-inch cutting head, in for some repairs.
 -
A new GT-250 belonging to Hart EMC Co-op, a 250 HP steel-tracked unit in for routine maintenance.

The One That Got Away: The First Refurbished GT-200
Tim also gave us a peek at a machine that proves how high the demand is for quality refurbished equipment. We had our first-ever refurbished GT-200 (the successor to the GT-16XP) ready to go, and it sold the very first day it was shown!
This impressive 200 HP machine featured a modern Stage 5 engine, a push-button tilt-forward cab for easy maintenance, a 15,000 lb. winch, and a brand-new 616 cutter head with a 79-inch cutting width. It was priced right, and a savvy customer snapped it up immediately.
