History of Gyro-Trac and Government Agencies
Gyro-Trac moved its corporate headquarters to the Southeastern United States in the 1990’s. The State of Florida Forestry was an early adopter, learning that there was no better mulching machine to mitigate difficult invasive species like Brazilian Pepper and Scrub Palmettos. They discovered that there was no faster, better way to cut fire breaks or thin out hazardous fuel loads in heavily forested wild lands / urban interfaces – before a forest fire – and even during rapidly spreading forest fires.
Gyro-Tracs did not destroy roots of nearby keeper trees. They did not rut soils or cause runoff problems. Gyro-Trac’s low ground pressure machines only left small, rapidly bio-degradable mulch behind that looked great, and would not wick fire.
Soon, NASA and the US Air Force were using Gyro-Trac’s on Merritt Island, better known as Cape Canaveral’s Kennedy Space Center, to cut critical lines of site for sensors that monitor launch operations; they used Gyro-Tracs to mitigate hazardous fuel loads and invasive species. From there, Air Force Bases, Army Ranges, Naval facilities, and the other federal agencies listed above became customers.
Gyro-Trac is thrilled to be able to offer our next generation of industry leading technologies to government agencies through the DLA purchasing schedule.
